PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch the discharge destination of a recording medium cut by a cutting function to a selected destination.SOLUTION: A printer according to the invention includes: a printing unit; a cutting mechanism unit for cutting a continuous medium; first conveying means for conveying a medium between a first opening disposed on the front of the printer and the printing unit; second conveying means for conveying a medium between a second opening disposed on the back of the printer and the printing unit; continuous medium conveying means disposed in the vicinity of the first opening or the second opening for conveying a loaded continuous medium to the first conveying means or the second conveying means; and a controlling unit for controlling the continuous medium cut by the cutting mechanism unit to be discharged through the first opening or the second opening on the basis of discharge direction information indicating the discharge destination of the cut continuous medium.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
