The present invention relates to a mobile terminal which is capable of remotely controlling a flying object which delivers merchandise and a method for controlling the same. To this end, the mobile terminal may include: a display unit to display information; a wireless communication unit to communicate with the flying object which delivers the merchandise; and a control unit which controls image data to be output on the display unit when the image data shot by the flying object is received from the flying object and establishes a position a user selects as the landing site of the flying object while the image data is output.
