Provided is a biaxially oriented polyester film which is suitable for use as a support film and which, when used for transferring a transfer film, e.g., an electromagnetic-shielding film, to a member such as an FPC or a module, can impart a satisfactory matte appearance to the surface and, simultaneously therewith, is excellent in terms of support film strippability after the transfer. Namely, the biaxially oriented polyester film is a laminated polyester film comprising a base layer and a matte layer containing particles, wherein the surface of the matte layer has a center-line average roughness of 400-1,000 nm and a ten-point average roughness of 4,000-8,000 nm and has a gloss (G60) of 6-20, and the proportion of surface projections with ruptured voids is 20% or less. |
