A miners' lamp comprising an accumulator and a lamp secured to the miners' cap is provided with a pair of charging terminals one of which is connected directly to one terminal of the accumulator, the other being connected to the second terminal of the accumulator through a rectifier so that current cannot be taken from the accumulator through the charging terminals. Fig. 2 shows the upper end of an accumulator casing 1 which is closed by a lid 2 carrying charging terminals 8, 9, and enclosing a rectifier 7 of the contact type connected between the positive terminal of the accumulator and the terminal 8. The circuit through the lamp 11 is shown in Fig. 4 and includes a fuse 3 and switch 10.</p> |
