One embodiment of the present invention provides a method for controlling AP (access point) operation of an AP controller in a wireless local area network (LAN) system, which comprises: a step of receiving information regarding connectivity for the AP and at least one terminal; a step of determining whether the AP is a dummy AP based on the information regarding the connectivity; and a step of performing operations related to coverage hole detection and correction (CHDC) for the AP based on the determination result. In addition, a method and a device for controlling the operation of the AP that is controlled by the AP controller are provided.
