The present invention relates to a fuel cell system and a method for controlling fuel cells. More specifically, the purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for controlling a circumstance in which controls for various physical quantities collide each other. Determined is ImaxA which refers to an upper bonding of current in order to achieve the following controls: a power control to prevent the generation power from exceeding the upper bonding; a voltage control to prevent the generation voltage from falling short of a lower bonding; and a current control to prevent the generation current from exceeding the upper bonding. Also determined is Imin which refers to the lower bonding for current to prevent the generation voltage from exceeding the upper bonding.
