Various embodiments of the present invention relate to an electronic device and a method for transmitting authentication information in a mobile payment environment, which can provide a mobile payment service based on various communication schemes. The electronic device comprises: a first communication module for transmitting first authentication information to an external electronic device; a second communication module for transmitting second authentication information to the external electronic device; at least one secure element module for storing the first and second authentication information; and a processor for determining whether to transmit at least one from the first authentication information and the second authentication information according to an authentication service transaction and determining at least one from the first communication module corresponding to the first authentication information and the second communication module corresponding to the second authentication information based on the above determination.
