The present invention relates to a propulsion apparatus for a ship, which comprises: a propeller provided in the rear of a hull to generate thrust; and a current pin provided at one side wherein a rotating direction of the propeller is upward of the portside and the starboard of the hull to control the upward flow of a fluid introduced to the propeller. According to the present invention, the propulsion apparatus for a ship has a pin only at one side of a hull having an effect on an inflow of the propeller to control the upward flow of a fluid introduced to the propeller, thereby increasing efficiency of the propeller, and increasing a rotational force of the propeller.
