PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope system capable of obtaining an image with high color reproducibility even when white balance adjustment is performed under an environment where shielding of external light is insufficient.SOLUTION: An endoscope system comprises: a light source device for supplying illumination light; a light emission part; a light incident part receiving external light which is generated by an external factor other than return light generated in response to the illumination light, and the illumination light; an imaging part for imaging the light incident from the light incident part; a gain value calculation part for calculating a gain value for adjusting white balance of an image; a control part for controlling the gain value calculation part to calculate the gain value while changing the amount of the illumination light when white balance adjustment of the image is instructed to be performed; a setting value acquisition part for acquiring a gain value in the light amount, whose variation of the gain value calculated by the gain value calculation part is estimated to converge, as a setting value; and a white balance adjustment part for performing the white balance adjustment of the image using the setting value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
