PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle body structure with a tail gate which enables an occupant to smoothly get in or out from a vehicle and enables luggage to be smoothly brought in/out from the vehicle when a sub door is opened.SOLUTION: A vehicle body structure 10 with a tail gate includes: a rear part opening 13 provided at a rear part 11a of a vehicle 11; and a tail gate 15 configured to open or close the rear part opening 13. Further, the vehicle body structure 10 includes: a sub door opening 35 provided at the tail gate 15; and a sub door 40 configured to open or close the sub door opening 35. Further, an upper surface (a step front upper surface 62) of a rear lower end part 16 is disposed so as to be substantially flush with an upper surface (a step upper surface 88) of a door lower end part 36.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
