1. A method for producing formate(s), formic acid, or a mixture thereof, from CO2, comprising:
exposing a CO2-derived compound other than sodium bicarbonate to a heterogeneous catalyst system comprising Pd and a carbon-based material; and exposing the CO2-derived compound to H2 gas at a pressure ranging from 300 psi to 500 psi; wherein the CO2-derived compound is exposed to the heterogeneous catalyst system and the H2 gas at a temperature and for a time suitable to produce formate(s), formic acid, or a mixture thereof. |
