ION-EXCHANGE POLYMER CONTAINING CATECHOL GROUP, PREPARATION METHOD AND APPLICATION THEREOF

The present invention relates to an ion exchange polymer having a catechol group, and a preparation method and an application thereof. More particularly, the present invention relates to an ion exchange polymer having adhesive force and ion exchange capability at the same time. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide an ion exchange polymer having adhesive force and ion exchange capability at the same time by polymerizing a monomer containing a catechol (1,2-dihydroxybenzene) group and a monomer having ion exchange capability. The ion exchange polymer according to the present invention contains a catechol group as one ingredient, and thus improves adhesive force between a carbon electrode and an ion exchange polymer, desalt properties and durability. In addition, when the ion exchange polymer is coated on a carbon electrode, such as (M)CDI or FCDI to integrate an ion exchange membrane with the electrode or to provide a core-shell structured flow electrode, it is possible to obtain a carbon electrode having ion exchange capability with low electric resistance, to simplify assemblage of a cell, and to save the cost which is required for exchange of an ion exchange membrane. Further, it is possible to significantly improve the adsorption ability and efficiency of a carbon electrode used for desalting or water treatment.
