An electronic device, according to embodiments of the present invention, comprises: a near field communication (NFC) module; a magnetic stripe data transmission (MST) module; and a processor functionally coupled to the NFC module and the MST module, wherein the processor may be configured to select at least one among the NFC module and the MST module and to transmit payment information to an external device via the selected module.
