Methods for mounting a toilet bowl B on a mounting surface S. The methods work with existing flanges or may include a standard closet flange 112 configured to receive a flange bolt (30 figure 6). The method comprises a flange bolt having a bolt head (32 figure 6) and a bolt stem (36 figure 6) extending from the bolt head and having an end portion opposite the bolt head. The flange has an upper surface (14 figure 6) and the bolt head is configured so as to fit through an opening (18 figure 6) in the flange, so that the bolt head contacts a lower surface (16 figure 6) of the flange, and the end portion of the stern extends upwardly from the upper surface of the flange. Mounting blocks are then positioned on the mounting surface, placing the toilet bowl on the mounting blocks and aligning the bowl with the flange and flange bolts. The mounting blocks are then removed and the bowl is lowered into position. The mounting blocks may have pull tabs or straps 204 and may be manufactured from wood, strand board, fibreboard, metal, foam and or plastics. The mounting blocks enable installation while minimizing potential for injury due to suspending a toilet bowl or assembly while aligning the bowl so as to sit on the flange bolts. |
