PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a high quality image also on a workpiece which has curvature in two directions and which cannot be coated with a single-axis rotation center, and a device for the method.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for printing a pattern on a curved surface of a printing object by using an inkjet head having a plurality of nozzles, that includes: a first process for determining a coating line to be coated with ink by using the inkjet head, on the curved surface; a second process for further dividing the coating line according to pattern resolution and setting coordinates on the coating line; an arrangement process for arranging the curved surface or the inkjet head such that a nozzle surface and a tangent line of the curved surface at the coordinates are parallel to each other, for each coordinate; a selection process for selecting a nozzle with which the shortest distance between the nozzle and the curved surface at all coordinates falls within a fixed distance range, in the arrangement process; a setting process for setting a first region in which coating can be carried out with the nozzle selected as a result of the selection process; and a coating process for coating ink in this region with the nozzle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
