PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine controller which can appropriately perform a malfunction detection, and an electrically-driven power steering device using the same.SOLUTION: A controller 1 comprises: inverters 120, 220; terminal voltage detection units 140, 240; resistors 151-153, 251-253; and a control unit 80. An abnormality detection unit 84 of the control unit 80 detects, when control signals with respect to all of upper arm elements 121-123, 211-213 and lower arm elements 124-126, 224-226 are off commands and a motor rotation number N is less than a prescribed rotation number threshold value Nth, abnormality of a first inverter 120, a motor 10, or a control signal on the basis of the sum of three phases Vt1 in a first circuit that is the sum of all phases including terminal voltage Vu1, Vv1, Vw1 of each phase. Therefore, abnormality detection is appropriately performed without being affected by counter electromotive force in a system where the motor 10 is possibly driven by external force even when the command signal is the off command.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
