The present invention relates to a smart meditation device to improve concentration, and an operating method thereof. The smart meditation device to improve concentration according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a control unit which controls image and sound devices such that a plurality of sample signals are outputted to a user for a predetermined time period; a brain wave detecting unit which receives signals collected by brain wave detecting sensors attached to a head of the user while the image and sound devices output the sample signals, and detects a brain wave signal of the user; and a concentration degree calculating unit which calculates a concentration degree of the user for the sample signals by using the detected brain wave signal. The control unit selects the sample signal related to the highest calculated concentration degree among the sample signals, and controls the image and sound devices to output the selected sample signal. According to the present invention, by using the smart meditation device to improve concentration and the operating method thereof, personalized stimuli which are effective for improving concentration for individuals can be set and provided, which results in a user-customized concentration improving service. Also, the concentration degree is calculated in real time and whether the currently provided stimulus is effective for improving concentration of the user is determined. Therefore, when the stimulus is determined to be not effective any longer, other stimuli can be provided to the user to maintain concentration of the user. Furthermore, concentration of the user can be outputted in physical motions of a moving object, and, therefore, the user can be interested in improving concentration. |
