PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an image quality in an imaging apparatus including a global electronic shutter function and a focus detection function corresponding to a phase difference system on an imaging plane.SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes a pixel region in which pixels are disposed in a matrix shape. Each of the pixels includes: a plurality of photoelectric conversion parts each for generating an electric charge corresponding to the quantity of an incident light; a plurality of charge holding parts which are provided correspondingly to the plurality of photoelectric conversion parts and hold electric charges generated by the plurality of photoelectric conversion parts; and a convergence part which is provided while being shared by the plurality of photoelectric conversion parts and guides the incident light to the photoelectric conversion part. A height Vb of a first potential barrier between two charge holding parts included in the same pixel is smaller than a height Va of a second potential barrier between two charge holding parts included in different pixels.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
