METHOD AND STEERING APPARATUS FOR FLUID STEERING OF A GLASS WEB

A steering apparatus comprises a steering member for fluid steering of a glass web. The steering member comprises a recessed channel defining a primary flow path extending in a primary flow direction toward a downstream end of the steering member. A fluid port is configured to introduce fluid into the recessed channel to at least partially flow in the primary flow direction along the primary flow path and out an open end of the recessed channel. In further examples, methods of conveying a glass web with the steering apparatus include conveying the glass web along a conveyance path and guiding a primary steering steam of fluid with the recessed channel along the primary flow path in the primary flow direction and out the open end of the recessed channel to steer the glass web in a direction transverse to the conveyance path.
