PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a man-machine interface based on a gesture, for example a user interface for controlling a program executed on a computer.SOLUTION: A gesture of a user is monitored, and response based on the detected gesture is performed. Information displayed on a screen is indicated by using an object. The information displayed on the screen is modified in response to a determined position indicated by the object and distance from the screen to the object.SELECTED DRAWING: None
