The present invention relates to a method to manufacture seals (42, 46) for a sensor element (30) in a sensor (10) to detect at least one feature of measuring gas in a measuring gas chamber and, more specifically, to a method to detect the quantity of gas components or the temperature of measuring gas in the measuring gas. The method comprises: a step of providing boron nitride and a ceramic material including the boron nitride, wherein the quantity of the boron nitride in the ceramic material is 2.0-6.0 wt%; a step of forming seals (42, 46) by forming the ceramic material through a compression process; and a step of thermally processing the seals (42, 46). |
