PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool and a method for cooling the carotid artery.SOLUTION: A tool comprises a cervical spine fixing collar 10 comprising: an annular support structure 12 extending in an axial direction with predetermined length; two or more cheek support structure parts having predetermined vertical length; and a front opening part 28 capable of being covered with a door 30. The door comprises a body side surface and outside surface capable of holding a compression member. In addition, the tool and the method further comprise a cooling member disposed in the front opening part, and disposed between a neck front part of a patient and the compression member disposed on the door, so that the cooling member can be held to the annular support structure.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
