A method/apparatus for detecting a contact of interest occurring in the performance of an event or activity, particularly a sporting or entertainment event or activity, the method of including the steps of capturing and storing sequences of video images of the event selective later replay by a visual display, detecting and recording sounds propagating in the vicinity of the target area for selective later manifestation of sound information such as an audible replay of the sounds, and processing the video image data and/or the sound data by a processing system so as to relatively time shift the video display and the manifested sound information so that they are better synchronised than the actual video capture times and the sound detection times. A test sound is generated for calibration, while capturing and storing video, analysing the video replay to determine the correct time shift for synchronisation. |
