The present invention relates to an apparatus for controlling a compressor. The apparatus for controlling a compressor comprises: a rectifying unit rectifying power applied from the outside; a direct current link unit composed of a pair of capacitors to smooth a rectified voltage; an inverter unit composed of a pair of switches to convert the smoothed direct current voltage into a driving voltage of a motor in response to a control signal; and a control unit generating the control signal. The control unit provides the apparatus for controlling a compressor, applying an offset voltage of a direct current to the driving voltage depending on the direction of the current applied to the motor. The apparatus for controlling a compressor removes imbalance of the voltages of both ends of two capacitors of the direct current link unit installed in the apparatus for controlling a compressor using a half bridge inverter.
