PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can accurately position upper and lower guide plates to stably guide a sheet to a transfer nip.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 includes a first guide member 31 and a second guide member 41. The first guide member 31 has an end on a transfer nip 19 side urged in a direction to approach the second guide member 41, and has a projection 33 projecting in the direction of the second guide member 41 formed at the end on a transfer nip 19 side. The second guide member 41 has a guide plate 43 displaceable in a direction to separate from an image carrier 11, and a support member 45 having a positioning part 46 with which the end 34 on the transfer nip 19 side of the first guide member 31 is in contact. The end on the transfer nip 19 side of the first guide member 31 is urged to be in contact with the positioning part 46, and thereby the first guide member 31 is positioned with respect to the support member 45; the projection 33 presses the guide plate 43, and thereby the guide plate 43 is positioned with respect to the first guide member 31.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
