PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cast article manufacturing method, in which a gas is fed from a sprue part, before a molten metal of a volume smaller than that of the whole cavity of an air permeable mold and substantially equal to a desired cavity part is poured by a gravitational force, to fill the desired cavity part with the molten metal thereby to solidify the molten metal, wherein the molten metal charging state achieved by the supply of the gas can be easily maintained.SOLUTION: A cast article manufacturing method comprises a cooling step of continuing the feed of a gas even after the completion of a molten metal filling step, thereby to cool for solidifying or semi-solidifying the molten part contacted by the fed gas preferentially than the molten metal charging the inside of a product. At said cooling step, the gas, which has been fed via an exhaust passage opened at one end to a sprue runner part, is discharged to the outside of a permeable mold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
