A mode switching method and apparatus, which belong to the field of automatic control. The method comprises: detecting whether a user is in a sleep state (202); if the user is in the sleep state, switching a current running mode to a silent mode (204); and running in the silent mode (206). By means of automatically controlling the current running mode to switch to a silent mode, the method solves the problem that the operation process is relatively complicated due to the manual control when a household appliance is adjusted to be in the silent mode through a remote control or in a manual manner, thereby achieving the effects of simplifying the mode switching process and automatically controlling the running in the silent mode. |
