An activated carbon which has excellent adsorption rate of a solvent (in particular, an organic chlorine-based solvent) (capable of efficiently adsorbing and desorbing a solvent (in particular, an organic chlorine-based solvent)) even if repeatedly used is able to be provided by employing a fibrous activated carbon for solvent recovery, which has a specific surface area of 800-2,500 m2/g and a surface acidic group amount of 0.5 meq/g or more.
