A method for operating a nonvolatile memory device according to the present invention includes a step of determining whether a memory block is a selected block; a step of determining whether the memory block shares the selected block and a block word line, when the memory block is not the selected block; a step of applying an unselected block word line voltage to the word lines of the memory block, when the memory block shares the selected block and the block word line; and a step of floating the word lines of the memory block, when the memory block does not share the selected block and the block word line. So, the data integrity of the unselected block can be improved.
