The invention relates to measurement technology and is intended for verification of a fuel sales system at a fuel filling station. The technical result to be attained by the invention is higher accuracy of verification of the fuel sales system at a fuel filling station, configured to dose the volume of fuel sold with correction for fuel temperature distribution in the filling station system. The technical result is achieved by determining the correcting temperature based on defined fuel temperature distribution in the fuel filling station system, and by use of a suitable gauging tank, wherein temperature distribution in the fuel sales system is determined based on at least the following predetermined data: parameters of the pipeline supplying fuel to the fuel-dispensing unit; temperature of soil surrounding the pipeline; fuel temperature at the inlet of the pipeline; and fuel parameters.
