PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor capable of securing reliability of electrical connection between an external electrode and a terminal for outer peripheral surface, during assembly and use.SOLUTION: An oxygen sensor 1 comprises: a cylindrical detection element 3 which comprises an internal electrode 53 and an external electrode 49, while the tip end is closed; a terminal 45 for outer peripheral surface which is externally fitted to a rear end part of the detection element 3, electrically connected to the external electrode 49, and extending in a rear end side of the detection element 3 in an axial direction; and a ceramic separator 29 for storing the rear end side of the terminal 45 for outer peripheral surface. The terminal 45 for outer peripheral surface has a cylindrical connection part 73 which has a gap 81 on one end, and is fixed to the rear end part of the detection element 3 by spring property of itself. On a rear end part of the cylindrical connection part 73, an elastic locking piece 83 contacting a tip end surface 29a of the separator 29 is provided. The rear end part of the cylindrical connection part 73 and the tip end surface 29a of the separator 29 are disposed so as to separate by the elastic locking piece 83.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
