PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high performance gas sensor capable of effectively diffusing exhaust gas into a chamber while efficiently exhausting oxygen in the exhaust gas to improve both accuracy of NOx detection and responsiveness.SOLUTION: A gas sensor introduces exhaust gas into a chamber 2 provided in a laminated type gas sensor element 1, reduces oxygen concentration in a pump cell 3 on the upstream side and detects NOx in the exhaust gas by a sensor cell 4 on the downstream side. At least one surface of a solid electrolyte sheet 11 or shield sheet 13 forming the wall surface of the chamber 2 has a warp shape convex toward the inside of the chamber 2 at the formation position of the pump cell 3.
