摘要 In this obstacle warning apparatus which warns the driver about obstacles in the periphery of the vehicle, a detection management unit (F2) specifies the position relative to the vehicle of a detection point, which is an obstacle detected by an obstacle sensor (2), and stores said relative position in memory (11). Further, a detection management unit successively updates the position of the detection points stored in memory in response to changes in the vehicle position. A warning determination unit (F3) determines whether or not a warning is necessary on the basis of the positional relation between the detection point position and the vehicle. However, if an overlap determination unit (F5) determines that a detection point overlaps with the range in which the vehicle is present, then the warning determination unit determines that no warning is necessary for the obstacle corresponding to that detection point.
