PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device that can achieve low power consumption, and a drive method of the liquid crystal display device, and to provide a liquid crystal display device excellent in display quality and a drive method of the liquid crystal display device.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes a drive unit functioning as follows. When the drive unit gives and holds a first potential difference between a first pixel electrode and a first counter electrode, and a second potential difference between a second pixel electrode and a second counter electrode, the drive unit applies, first in a writing period, a first counter voltage VcomH to the first counter electrode and a second counter voltage VcomL to the second counter electrode and sets the voltage of a control signal SG to a first voltage V1. In a specific writing period, the drive unit temporarily sets the voltage of the control signal SG to a second voltage V2, applies a first image signal Vsig1L to a first signal line, and a second image signal Vsig2H to a second signal line. In a holding period, the drive unit maintains the first counter voltage VcomH applied to the first counter electrode, and the second counter voltage VcomL applied to the second counter electrode, and sets the voltage of the control signal SG to a third voltage value V3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
