This charging device 1 which can communicate with a vehicle 2 is provided with: a detection section 5 for detecting whether or not a connection section 10 on the charging device 1 side, provided to a wiring 9 used for charging the vehicle 2, is connected to a connection section 11 provided on the vehicle 2 side; and a control section 4 for transmitting, after the lapse of a predetermined time or more, a signal for starting communication to the vehicle 2 when detecting that the connection section 10 and the connection section 11 are re-connected within a predetermined time from having detected, during charging the vehicle 2, that the connection section 10 and the connection section 11 are not connected until the vehicle 2 completing charging stop processing.
