PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly set a cycle of a monitoring operation so as to prevent an overdischarge state of a battery even in the case where a current equal to or lower than a predetermined threshold value continuously flows, when intermittently performing the monitoring operation for reducing current consumption of the battery while any load is not used.SOLUTION: A battery state monitoring device comprises: an electronic control unit 3 for monitoring which monitors a state of a battery 1 including an overdischarge state; an overcurrent cutoff circuit 7 for cutting off a current flowing from the battery when a current equal to or more than a predetermined current flows from the battery; and control means which performs control to execute such a monitoring operation that a stop mode partially stopping the monitoring operation by the electronic control unit for monitoring and a monitor mode entirely executing the monitoring operation are cyclically and alternately repeated, and cyclically and alternately switches the stop mode and the monitor mode while regarding as a maximum cycle a time as long as or shorter than the time in which a discharge current exceeding an allowable discharge capacity from a lower limit of a charging amount for practical use of the battery to the overdischarge state flows, when the current less than the predetermined current to be cut off by the overcurrent cutoff circuit flows from the battery. |
