The present invention relates to a surface light source device. A gap of a predetermined distance is formed between a light emission portion of a light source and a light incident surface of a light guide plate. The light guide plate having the light incident surface on a side thereof and the light emission portion emitting light are prepared on an external surface of a package member. The light emission portion is arranged to correspond to the light incident surface of the light guide plate in the light source. The surface light source device has the light source. The light source has a gap forming unit capable of forming a gap of a predetermined distance between the light emission portion and the light incident surface of the light guide plate. |
