The present invention relates to an electronic cigarette comprising: a power supply unit; a cartridge for vaporizing liquid into gas using current supplied from the power supply unit; a mouthpiece coupled to an end of the cartridge; and, between the power supply unit and the cartridge, a mode switch mechanism which allows for choosing either a manual mode where the vaporization operation is turned on or off by a push-button mechanism, or an automatic mode where the vaporization operation is turned on or off in response to the degree of suction generated through the mouthpiece, wherein the mode switch mechanism comprises: a housing; a push-button extending from a point on the outer circumferential surface of the housing; a suction pressure sensor inside the housing; a control unit joined intimately to a surface of the push-button; a junction member joined to the cartridge and including on its external circumferential surface a plurality of air holes connected to the suction pressure sensor. |
