PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform electric power control by accurately detecting a person.SOLUTION: An image formation apparatus 1 have two pyroelectric sensors Sa, Sb fitted in its front. The pyroelectric sensors Sa, Sb have their detection regions Aa, Ab including a bidirectional detection region in a predetermined shape for detecting a person moving in both a crossing direction and an approaching direction and a lateral detection region in a predetermined shape for detecting the person moving only in the crossing direction, the lateral detection region being located outside the bidirectional detection region. The image formation apparatus 1 clocks an elapsed time from the point of time when detection results of the pyroelectric sensors Sa, Sb change by a predetermined quantity or more, and determines, based upon the detection results and the elapsed time, whether the person approaches the image formation apparatus 1 so as to control an electric power supply state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
