PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power conversion device which detects deterioration or abnormality in an element, a drive circuit or a cooling system by detecting a temperature abnormality in a power semiconductor using the power semiconductor as a temperature sensor and is capable of prolonging the lifetime of a system while preventing a defect during operation by taking appropriate countermeasures beforehand.SOLUTION: In a power conversion device including the power semiconductor and an arithmetic circuit which commands driving of the power semiconductor, the temperature abnormality in the power semiconductor is detected from a delay time between a driving command of the power semiconductor and a drive voltage for control that is applied to the power semiconductor, and the power conversion device is protected. In the power conversion device including the power semiconductor and the arithmetic circuit that commands the driving of the power semiconductor, a delay time between the driving command and a control voltage applied to the power semiconductor and a reference value are compared and determined. In accordance with a result of the determination, at least either the driving command or the drive voltage is changed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
