PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device that can employ a fluid-like or powder-like desiccant in light emitting devices sandwiching either principal surface side of a light guide plate by a protective plate such as glass and the like.SOLUTION: A light emitting device comprises: a light guide plate 20 that emits light incident from a lateral surface from a principal surface; a light source member 10 that is provided in at least one lateral surface of the light guide plate; an elongated member 30 that is provided on an outer peripheral side of the light guide plate, and is made up of a cylindrical member whose interior is hollow; a sealant 50 that is provided in an outer peripheral surface excluding an inner side surface of the elongated member, but including at least an outer peripheral surface thereof; and two protective plates 40 that are arranged so as to be located among the light guide plate, light source member and elongated member, in which a desiccant 60 is encapsulated in at least one of the elongated member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
