PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching power supply which has higher power factor and higher efficiency than in the conventional technique.SOLUTION: A switching power supply for converting an AC input current into a desired output voltage includes: a power factor improvement circuit, disposed at an input end of the switching power supply, for improving a power factor; a smoothing capacitor connected to an output end of the power factor improvement circuit; and a bidirectional DC/DC converter for converting a first DC voltage into a second DC voltage on the basis of a feedback signal, corresponding to the output voltage, to output it to the smoothing capacitor, or converting a third DC voltage from the smoothing capacitor into a fourth DC voltage to output it.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
