The disclosure relates to systems and methods for facilitating cross-application functionality among artist specific client applications. Each artist specific application may be created and branded for an artist and may provide artist content such as music, which may be available only through the artist specific application. To facilitate a seamless user experience when multiple artist specific applications are installed at a user device, the artist specific applications may share information with one another so that a user may use a given artist specific application to interact with content provided by different artist specific applications. For example, a first artist specific application may display a selectable list of songs played by a second artist specific application. Selection of a song may cause the second artist specific application to be opened to play the selected song seamlessly without requiring the user to open the second artist specific application.

A computer implemented method for facilitating cross-application communication among a plurality of artist specific applications installed at a user device and each associated with a corresponding artist, the method being implemented on the user device having one or more physical processors programmed with computer program instructions that, when executed by the one or more physical processors, cause the user device to perform the method, the computer program instructions including a first artist specific application and a second artist specific application, the method comprising:
obtaining, by the user device, first artist content of a first artist, wherein the first artist content comprises at least one of first music of the first artist or other content of the first artist; providing, by the user device, the first artist content through the first artist specific application, which is associated with the first artist and installed at the user device; determining, by the user device, a level of user activity within the first artist specific application with respect to the first artist content, through the first artist specific application; providing, by the user device, first information relating to the first artist content from the first artist specific application to the second artist specific application, which is associated with the second artist and installed at the user device, wherein the first information comprises an indication of the level of user activity with respect to the first artist content; obtaining, by the user device, second artist content of a second artist, wherein the second artist content comprises at least one of second music of the second artist or other content of the second artist; determining, by the user device, additional content to provide through the second artist specific application based on the first information indicating the level of user activity with respect to the first artist specific content; and providing, by the user device, the second artist content and the additional content through the second artist specific application.
