FIELD: metallurgy.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy of rare metals, specifically to extraction of scandium from red mud, which is a waste from production of alumina. Method includes leaching scandium with sulphuric acid with heating for 2 hours and filtering pulp.
