<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a newsprint paper that is light and has high brightness and opacity. <P>SOLUTION: The newsprint paper contains at least one selected from purple pigment, blue pigment, purple dye and blue dye. As to the paper hue measured by a method according to JIS P 8150 of the newsprint paper, a b<SP POS="POST">*</SP>value is -10 or more and less than 4 in the measurement with wavelength including that of ultraviolet ray. The newsprint paper has a brightness of 60% or more and an opacity measured by a method according to JIS P 8149 is 88% or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
