The present invention relates to a novel luminous host material and an organic electroluminescent device using the same. The organic electroluminescent device has excellent luminous characteristics and improves power consumption by enhancing driving voltage and inducing an increase in electrical power efficiency. The novel host material of the present invention is represented by chemical formula 1.
