This ultrasound observation device generates an ultrasound image on the basis of ultrasound signals obtained by receiving ultrasound reflected by a contrast agent in an objective area of a subject to which the contrast agent has been administered, and includes: a measuring unit that measures a predetermined measurement item related to the administration of the contrast agent; an image-quality-setting changing unit that changes the image quality setting for an ultrasound image between a first image-quality setting suitable for observing how the contrast agent flows in the objective area, and a second image-quality setting suitable for observing how the contrast agent stays in the objective area; and a control unit that controls the operation of the setting change by the image-quality-setting changing unit on the basis of the measurement results from the measuring unit. |
