A ceramic honeycomb structure having a ceramic honeycomb body with multiple flow channels that are formed by square cross-section lattice-like partition walls and that extend in the axial direction, and an outer circumferential wall provided on the perimeter of the ceramic honeycomb body. The ceramic honeycomb structure is characterized in that: the perimeter partition walls configuring the outermost perimeter of the ceramic honeycomb body have a perimeter surface form reflecting the square lattice shape of the partition walls; the thickness of the perimeter partition walls is thicker than the thickness of the partition walls; and the outer circumferential wall is formed so as to cover the perimeter surface of the perimeter partition walls. |
