The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a norbornene optical anisotropic film and, more specifically, to a method of manufacturing an optical anisotropic film sequentially comprising: a step of preparing a norbornene resin with a repeating unit represented by chemical formula 1, by polymerizing a stretchable improved monomer (B) and a polymerization improved monomer (M); a step of dissolving the norbornene resin in a solvent and then casting the norbornene resin to prepare a film; and a step of stretching the prepared film. The method of manufacturing an optical anisotropic film further comprises a pre-drying step before the stretching step, whereby a residual solvent content of the prepared film is 0.5 wt% or less. A manufacturing method according to the present invention is a method of manufacturing a film prepared by using a solution casting method of a norbornene resin, and the residual solvent content is controlled to be 0.5 wt% or less to expand a range of expression of a phase difference. In the chemical formula 1: R_1 is a formyl group substituted by hydrogen, or alkoxy having 1 or 2 carbons; R_2 is a formyl group substituted by alkoxy having 4 or more carbons, or an acetoxymethyl group; and m and n are integers of 1 or more, respectively. |
