The embodiments of the present invention provide a method and device for alarm processing. In the alarm processing method, when an EMS notifies an NMS of an un-notified historical alarm, an alarm message sent to the NMS contains indication information for indicating that an alarm which has occurred on an NE is an un-notified historical alarm. Thus the NMS can determine the un-notified historical alarm, thereby avoiding the problem of redundancy or invalidation processing of the un-notified historical alarm and another active alarm possibly having processing delayed, as a result of the NMS being unable to distinguish between another active alarm and the un-notified historical alarm. Moreover, with regard to the un-notified historical alarm, the EMS no longer needs to send an alarm message for notifying the occurrence of a fault and an alarm message for notifying elimination of the fault, corresponding to the un-notified historical alarm, to the NMS. The number of signals exchanged by the EMS and NMS can be halved, thereby reducing resource wastage in the whole system. |
